Machining method with machining accuracy up to 1 μ M. Precision machining is realized by using precision machine tools, measuring tools and meters under strict control of environmental conditions. It is called ultra precision machining when the machining accuracy reaches or exceeds 0.1 μ M.

The accuracy of geometrical shape and mutual position of parts can reach micron or angular second;
The limit or feature dimension tolerance of the part is below micrometer;
The surface micro unevenness (average height difference of surface unevenness) of parts is less than 0.1 μ m;
